Coordinator: Beatriz Romero (DELFO-URJC)

Participants:

  • Groups: DELFO-URJC, GDAF-UC3M, CEMDATIC-UPM
  • Laboratories: L169

  • Associated companies: Aptent S.L., Alter Technologies, ALISE Devices, CESyA-UC3M

In this objective we intend to develop different devices and systems based on organic material: photodetectors, emitters and waveguides. Likewise, we intend to implement an all organic Visible Light Communication System (VLC). Currently, state-of-the-art organic photodetectors present a bandwidth of 1MHz and a responsivity of 0.13 A/W with standard structures. We expect to obtain similar values with ITO-free inverted structures and less degradation than standard ones. In this consortium, VLC systems with organic photodetectors have already been developed. We now expect to develop all-organic VLC systems (organic emitters and photodetectors) that will be applied to improve accessibility services in museums.

The following activities will be carried out:

Activity 1. Heterojunction organic photodetectors.

                  Responsible: Beatriz Romero (DELFO-URJC)

Activity 2. Organic waveguides.

                  Responsible: Morten Andreas Geday (CEMDATIC-UPM)

Activity 3. Organic emitters and detectors for Visible Light Communications Systems.                               Responsible: José Manuel Sánchez Pena (GDAF-UC3M)
